Role:                 Travel Specialist / Travel Professional

Location:          Marrakech, Morocco

Reports To:     Reservation Manager with a dotted line to Sales Manager

Prepared:        November 2019


To plan, SALE, organize and implement itineraries being operated by Abercrombie & Kent /Akorn Morocco for their respective accounts.

Whilst doing this to have total familiarity of the account/agent.  This includes a full understanding of the market, the nature of the client’s movement, the pricing strategy and the expectations of the agent/clients.

Then to plan itineraries and select the correct products to meet with the agent/clients’ requirements within the allocated timeframe, budget and seasonality.


Day to Day:

  • SALE, to our clients (B2B) the right product for the right client
  • Correspondence with agent/client with company policy timeframe and identity
  • Opening/handling of Bookings through Travel Studio
  • Responding to daily queries for new bookings, suggested itineraries, requests for quotations and any information requests.
  • Implementing the programs and itineraries at the required level depending on the client, segment and brand you are dealing with.
  • Conducting daily review and follow up of operating guest files with operations team
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent contacts with all suppliers and colleagues.
  • Being responsible for the profitability of the files operated, to collect payments and to provide finance with all relevant documents within deadlines

Quoting / Operating:

  • To design the itinerary where requested according to client’s needs and interests
  • To check feasibility of itineraries proposed by clients, offering alternatives where appropriate.
  • To check hotel availability, ensuring use of allocations where available.
  • To cost each itinerary competitively and to the requested level of quality within the agreed time frame.
  • To accurately present the proposed tour itinerary, pricing, inclusions and exclusions.
  • To hold and confirm options held and to accurately book all services required for the successful operation of the tour within the budget set.
  • To re-quote tours as necessary in a timely manner
  • To confirm bookings to the client within the agreed time frame.
  • To provide all relevant information to agents related to their commissions
  • To accurately cost any additional requests or changes.
  • To check the final itinerary for any errors or changes.
  • To provide accurate reconfirmation and tour documentation for all suppliers and third party agents.
  • To independently resolve problems which may occur during the course of a tour.
  • To re-negotiate any major services before confirming
  • To handover and liase with sales Operators on files within the correct time frame​​​​​​​


  • You are responsible for Issuing invoices and collecting payment as per the contract terms or as per the general Abercrombie & Kent Payment/Cancellation Policy
  • To send relevant invoices and monitor payments for your files.
  • To send commission information to Management or relevant person
  • To make sure the Handing of files to finance, including operation sheets, invoices are done in a timely manner by yourself or sales support

Standards of Performance

  • Adhere to hours of work to maintain regular cover for client enquiries.
  • Promote a professional impression of A&K through appropriate dress code.
  • Answer phones within the standard set by the company to provide customer satisfaction.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by maintaining an accurate and consistent approach to work.
  • Ensure that your work area is kept clear and tidy to assist with effective organisation throughout the department
  • Provide cover for absent colleagues so that service standards are not adversely affected.
  • Adhere to company dress code


  • Fluent in English, French and Darija
  • Understanding of numbers and calculation
  • Previous experience in tourism a plus but not a must
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
